Job summary

Unikie in Tampere is seeking a Senior C++/Windows Software Engineer to join our international development team on a long-term software project. You are a self-directed troubleshooter with strong C++ and Windows experience, capable of resolving crashes, memory issues, and complex integration challenges, and you will share knowledge with colleagues.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR Senior C++/Windows Software Engineer

We are looking for a Senior C++/Windows Software Engineer to join Unikie team. In this role, you will join our international development team and work on a long-term software development assignment. The role is well suited to a self-directed developer who is a strong troubleshooter, learns quickly and is proactive in sharing knowledge.

This opportunity is on-site in Tampere.

Required Qualifications

• Strong, hands-on C++ development experience in production software.
• Experience developing C++ software for Windows, including user-facing applications and/or background services.
• Practical experience developing or supporting protocol gateways and integrations that enable different systems to exchange data.
• Proven ability to investigate and resolve complex software problems, including application crashes, crash dumps and memory-related issues using Visual Studio.
• Good working knowledge of Git for managing source code and collaborating with developers.
• Basic understanding of computer networking and redundancy, including connection failures, reconnection and failover.
• Experience working with virtual machines or other virtualized development and test environments.
• Self-directed and able to work independently.
• A strong troubleshooter who takes ownership of difficult problems.
• A quick learner willing to learn the basics of a new software platform.
• Collaborative and proactive in sharing knowledge.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with MFC.
• Experience with OPC UA or similar communication protocols.
• Experience with Atlassian tools.
