Job summary

Smartly is seeking a Senior Software Engineer focused on backend and broader fullstack responsibilities to scale our rendering and creative production tooling. The role emphasizes owning backend services, APIs, and distributed systems within a hybrid Helsinki work setup with strong collaboration across teams.

You will work with Node.js, Typescript, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and public APIs, partnering with Product and Infra to meet global customer needs.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience building robust, distributed web applications.
• Proficient in backend development with Node.js/Typescript and PostgreSQL.
• Kubernetes experience and DevOps mindset are valued.

Responsibilities

• Own vertical slices of the rendering platform and end-to-end backend projects.
• Implement small increments to deliver infrastructure improvements and features quickly.
• Define and own API contracts for internal and external stakeholders.
• Document services and communicate offerings to other Smartly teams.
• Lead technical design decisions prioritizing availability, performance, and quality.
• Collaborate with Product and Infra to meet global customer demand.
