Job summary

Smartly is seeking a senior engineer to own vertical slices of the platform, from design to API contracts, working across UX, product, and infrastructure teams. You will contribute to creative engineering initiatives and ensure high quality software that meets customer needs.

The role requires 7+ years of experience in web applications, strong React frontend and Node.js/TypeScript backend skills, and excellent English communication. Hybrid work from Helsinki 3 days a week is available.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience building robust, complex, distributed web applications.
• Experience building and maintaining client applications using React.
• Backend development experience using NodeJS and TypeScript.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication.
• Ability to collaborate with UX, product, infrastructure and support teams.
• Hybrid work capability from Helsinki office 3 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end vertical slices of the platform.
• Document services and communicate offerings to Smartly teams.
• Define, design, and own internal/external API contracts.
• Focus on well-designed, high-quality software.
• Contribute to Creative Engineering Group's ambitions and product.
• Work with stakeholders to meet customer needs and deadlines.
• Develop soft skills by collaborating with customers and peers.
