Job summary

European Chemicals Agency, Helsinki, is seeking a Seconded National Expert – Communications Officer for a one-year initial secondment with possible renewal. The role focuses on external and internal communications, digital content, events and stakeholder relations within a dynamic regulatory environment.

The ideal candidate will have a university degree, experience in communications and a capacity to work across units to deliver strategic messaging for ECHA's activities and priorities.

Qualifications

• University degree in a field relevant to the areas of work described in this call.
• At least one year of professional experience in external/internal communications or stakeholder relations.
• Qualifications issued by EU/EEA authorities or recognised as equivalent will be accepted.

Responsibilities

• External Communications: Drafting press releases, briefings, speeches; developing content for the website; handling press queries and briefings; supporting senior management with media appearances; organizing events; supporting webinars and videos; managing corporate channels and social media; acting as a spokesperson when required.
• Internal Communications: Cooperating on priorities, content development for intranet, organizing internal staff events, providing general support to internal initiatives.
• Project Work: Building a new website; implementing the new ECHA corporate identity; coordinating the 2027 Conference and Anniversary; chairing networking events for EU agencies.
