Job summary

VTT in Finland is seeking a Research Scientist to advance 2D-material integrated photonics, focusing on high‑speed modulators, device optimization and comprehensive characterization in close collaboration with our expert teams.

You hold a MSc or PhD in physics, electronics or closely related field, with hands‑on experience in semiconductor photonics and cleanroom nanoscale fabrication, and strong English communication to engage with international partners.

Qualifications

MSc or PhD in physics, electronics, or closely related field.
Experience in semiconductor physics, photonics or electronics.
Experience in cleanroom fabrication of nanoscale devices.
Excellent communications skills in English are required.

Responsibilities

Research and development of integrated 2D-material based modulators.
Solving complex nanofabrication and characterization challenges.
Communicating and solving the problems in tight collaboration with others at VTT.
