Job summary

Nordhealth in Helsinki is seeking a Data Engineer to build and maintain the data infrastructure powering our internal products. You will design scalable pipelines and collaborate with product and design teams to translate requirements into robust data solutions.

The role emphasizes data processing, modeling, quality checks, and storage efficiency. Proficiency with Python, PySpark, SQL, and experience with Databricks/DBT are highly valued, along with strong English communication.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in Data Engineering
• Proficiency in Python (core + dataframes)
• Experience with PySpark for large-scale data processing
• Strong SQL and data quality checks
• Data modeling and query optimization
• Experience with Databricks and DBT is a big plus
• Experience with databases like ClickHouse is a big plus
• AI fluency (MCP, agents, cross-agents review)
• Knowledge of DevOps principles and CI/CD practices is an advantage
• Full proficiency in English, written and spoken

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python, PySpark, and SQL.
• Develop and optimize ETL processes, ensuring data accuracy for internal reporting.
• Collaborate with Leadership to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Build scalable data models in SQL and maintain detailed documentation.
• Implement data quality checks and monitoring to ensure data integrity.
• Optimize data storage and retrieval for performance and cost efficiency.
• Contribute to cluster optimization and maintenance.
• Document data engineering processes and best practices, with clear communication.
• Collaborate to continuously improve team practices and processes.
• Annual OKRs set at the individual level to contribute to business unit goals.
