Job summary

Vaisala is seeking an R&D Project Manager to drive development of measurement solutions for demanding industrial applications, including data center HVAC environments. You will lead cross-functional teams to ensure projects progress from concept to production readiness with strong stakeholder alignment.

The role is based at Vaisala's headquarters in Vantaa, Finland, with a hybrid model requiring roughly 80% on-site presence. This full-time, permanent position is hosted by Biisoni and starts asap.

What would you do as an R&D Project Manager?

As an R&D Project Manager, you will join Vaisala’s growing Industrial Measurements business and lead product development projects that bring first-class measurement solutions to demanding industrial applications, such as data center HVAC environments.

You will be responsible for driving product development projects from concept and planning through industrialization and production readiness, following Vaisala’s established development process. Your role is to ensure projects progress according to agreed objectives, schedules, and quality requirements while keeping stakeholders aligned and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.

You will be working with physical measurement instruments produced at scale, which calls for close collaboration between R&D and manufacturing – both located on the same site in Vantaa, giving you direct access to experts throughout the development process. You will lead a cross-functional project team and collaborate closely with product management, manufacturing, sourcing, regulatory specialists, marketing, and other stakeholders.

The position is based at Vaisalas headquarters in Vantaa. The role follows a hybrid working model, but due to the highly collaborative nature of the work, we expect you to spend approximately 80% of your time on-site. This is a full-time, permanent position with Biisoni, and you will work on assignment at Vaisala. Our preferred start date is as soon as possible.

What would help you succeed in this role?

We are looking for an R&D Project Manager with 1-2 years of project management experience and a background in product development, manufacturing, industrial projects, or another technical environment involving physical products. A degree in engineering, technology, or business will support your success in the role. You communicate fluently in English, while Finnish language skills are considered a plus.

Success in this role requires strong communication and stakeholder management skills, a structured way of working, and the ability to keep projects moving forward in a changing business environment. You are comfortable balancing different priorities, building alignment across teams, and ensuring progress toward business objectives.
