Job summary

IQM Quantum Computers is seeking a Business Controller for R&D to partner with engineering and research leaders. You will own project cost visibility, monitor budgets, and guide decisions that shape IQM’s technology roadmap, including management of grant-funded projects.

The role blends finance discipline with ambitious science in a fast-growing, hybrid-work environment. You’ll develop financial models, drive forecasting, and strengthen internal controls while helping scale IQM’s pioneering

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in Financial Controlling, FP&A or similar finance role, preferably in project-based tech environments.
Strong understanding of project economics, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
Experience with R&D, engineering, or product development finance is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Own R&D financials including project cost tracking and cost allocation validation.
Monitor spend against budgets and forecasts, identify variances and risks.
Partner with R&D and Engineering to provide financial insights for prioritization and resource allocation.
Build and maintain financial models translating development activities into financial outcomes.
Manage grants and public funding program finance, including compliance and reporting.
Drive budgeting, rolling forecasts, and scenario planning to align operations with finances.
