Job summary

G2 Recruitment is supporting a mechanical contractor in Helsinki on a Data Centre project. The QA/QC Mechanical Engineer will focus on mechanical piping, package design, installations and fabrication, within the quality team.

The role requires a mechanical/piping background and 5+ years in quality/construction, with onsite experience in Finland. Rotations are 3 or 5 weeks; immediate start with in-country accommodation and travel support provided.

Qualifications

• Mechanical/Piping background required.
• 5+ years quality/construction experience.
• Experience with piping packages, P&IDs, walkdowns, inspections and documentation.
• Process industry experience (data centres, chemical, pharma, power, petrochemical).
• Onsite contractor/sub-contractor experience preferred.
• Based in Finland or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• QA/QC checking for project documentation and equipment.
• Write inspection test plans (ITPs), review inspections and compile data.
• Coordinate testing and inspection activities.
• Compile and issue handover and completion documentation.
• Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors and client.
• Run weekly progress meetings and reports.
• Manage quality-related tasks per client requirements.

G2 are currently supporting a mechanical contractor looking for a QA/QC Mechanical Engineer for their Data Centre project in Helsinki.

You will be working on a large-scale data centre construction project, being part of their quality team working on a piping and mechanical package. The main activities of the role are mechanical piping, designing of packages and both the installation and fabrication.

The client will provide accommodation in-country, flights for rotations, in country payroll, tax, social security payments etc.

Duties:

• QA/QC checking for documentation for project and equipment

• Compile, review and issue handover and completion documentation
• Coordinator with construction and projects team, sub-contractors and the client
• Coordinate or run weekly catch up meetings, progress reporting and review
• Manage quality related tasks online with the clients requirements
