Job summary

United Nations University (UNU-WIDER) in Helsinki invites applications for a publications associate to support the Publications Team. You will manage the finalization and online publishing of working papers, coordinate copy-editing, and uphold editorial quality across submissions.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, outstanding English writing, and proficiency with MS Office, anti-plagiarism software, LaTeX and EndNote.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least three (3) years of relevant work experience; or
• Completion of secondary school education with at least six (6) years of relevant work experience
• Strong editing and academic writing skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent command of written English; experience in copy-editing and publications preferred
• Knowledge of LaTeX, EndNote or similar tools would be advantageous
• Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision in a multicultural environment

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outsourcing of copy-editing of working papers and related papers/typescripts.
• Ensure quality control including anti-plagiarism checks and editorial standards.
• Store final texts and upload publications to the website.
• Support the Publications Team workflow and assist in administrative tasks.
