Job summary

UNU-WIDER in Helsinki is seeking a Project Associate to join the Institute’s Projects Support Team within the Partnerships and Programme Support Unit. You will coordinate project activities, support planning and budget reviews, and prepare narratives and financial reports for diverse stakeholders.

The role requires strong English communication, organizational skills, and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. Initial contract is fixed-term with potential renewal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with at least three (3) years of relevant work experience.
• Secondary school with at least six (6) years of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated ability to support planning, monitoring and implementation of projects.
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in English (oral and written).
• Knowledge of ERP systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Serve as focal point for coordination, monitoring and expedition of project implementation activities across the Institute and its network.
• Support in coordination of project planning, implementation, monitoring and closure; identify shortfalls and non-compliance.
• Provide support in preparing and analyzing project budgets and carrying out periodic budget reviews.
• Draft narrative and financial reports for external stakeholders.
• Compile, summarize and present project documents and produce presentations as needed.
• Organize events and provide secretarial, administrative and logistic support.
• Keep internal databases updated and generate standard/non-standard reports.
