Job summary

Clarion Hotel Helsinki is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor for Public Areas to lead a new team and ensure premium cleanliness across lobby, Skyroom Bar, The Social Bistro, Makasiini event space, and pool & gym. You will work with the Rooms Division Manager to build a culture of pride and ownership in the hotel appearance.

The role requires professional cleaning experience in Finland and English fluency, with Finnish as an advantage.

Qualifications

• Professional cleaning experience in Finland required.
• Fluency in English required; Finnish is a major advantage.
• Punctual and able to work varied shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.
• Must be able to work in a physically active role, with bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a new public areas cleaning team with the Rooms Division Manager.
• Clean and maintain public areas to premium standard.
• Support during breakfast and lunch service as needed.
• Take ownership of hotel appearance in high-traffic zones.
• Follow Nordic Swan Ecolabel standards for chemical use and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with Rooms Division and F&B for events and busy periods.
• Respond to guest requests positively and address immediate needs in public spaces.
• Manage equipment and supplies to meet team goals.

We are looking for the new role of Housekeeping Supervisor for Public Areas. While the rooms are where our guests sleep, the public areas including the iconic Clarion lobby, Skyroom Bar, The Social Bistro, our Makasiini event space and the pool & gym are where the Clarion vibe lives. You will be building a high-performing public area cleaning team together with the Rooms Division Manager. Your attention to detail in maintaining clean and well-appointed public areas impacts our guests' overall experience.

We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team and contribute to our hotels’ success.

Your role

• You will be a part of building a new team to create a culture of pride and ownership of the hotel’s appearance
• Clean and maintain public areas to Clarion’s premium standard
• Active work in other operational areas of the hotel (i.e. support during breakfast & lunch service)
• Take \"ownership\" of the hotel’s appearance, ensuring high-traffic zones are polished and welcoming
• Follow Nordic Swan Ecolabel standards for chemical use and adhere to all safety and ergonomic protocols
• Work closely with the Room Division and F&B teams to provide seamless service during events and busy periods
• Respond to guest requests with a positive attitude and address any immediate needs in the public spaces.
• Manage your equipment and supplies responsibly, contributing to the team’s overall financial and quality goals

This is a permanent position, offering either 30h / 3weeks or 60h / 3weeks, with a start date tailored to your availability.

Requirements

• Professional cleaning experience in Finland in required
• Fluency in English is required as we are an international team. Finnish is a major advantage!
• You are punctual and comfortable working varied shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends. As some shifts start very early or end very late
• You are thorough, precise, and take genuine pride in a job well done
• Proactively assist guests with directions or a friendly \"Good morning!\" while you work
• Finnish residence is required
• Valid Finnish work permit is required
• You don’t wait to be told; you see a smudge on the glass or a pillow out of place and fix it instantly
• You are able to work in a physically active role, involving bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
