Job summary

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Installation & Commissioning of DG Sets (Diesel Generators sets) to lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of installation and commissioning projects at client sites across Finland, primarily in and around Helsinki. The ideal candidate with strong project management experience in industrial, manufacturing, energy, automation, or engineering environments.

The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing client relationships, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with Finnish regulations and company quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end installation and commissioning of DG sets (Diesel Generator sets) projects at client sites.
• Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Coordinate site activities involving engineering, procurement, logistics, subcontractors, and commissioning teams.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout project execution.
• Ensure compliance with Finnish HSE regulations, company safety standards, and client requirements.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Manage subcontractors, vendors, and site personnel to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Conduct project meetings, progress reviews, and prepare regular status reports.
• Oversee commissioning activities, testing, troubleshooting, and handover documentation.
• Resolve technical and commercial issues in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Ensure proper documentation, project close-out, and lessons learned are captured.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for project execution processes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 10 + years of experience managing installation and commissioning of DG Sets (Diesel Generators sets) projects at industrial or client sites.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional and multicultural project teams.
• Strong understanding of installation, commissioning, testing, and project execution methodologies.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and client management abilities.
• Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent.

Preferred

• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent Project Management certification.
• Experience in industries such as energy, automation, manufacturing, process plants, marine, or heavy engineering.
• Knowledge of Finnish workplace safety regulations.
• Basic knowledge of Finnish is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Experience working with international clients and multicultural teams.

Candidate Requirements

• Valid Finnish residence permit and work authorization.
• Willingness to travel extensively to customer sites across Finland and occasionally within Europe.
