Job summary

GEDON™ | Precision Search for Complex Construction is seeking a Senior CSA Project Director to lead delivery on a major Nordic project. You will oversee substructure, structural frame, envelope, fit-out and interfaces with MEP, with accountability for programme, cost, quality, safety and client satisfaction.

You will head a large project organisation across construction, engineering, planning, commercial, procurement and HSQE, while managing senior client relationships and project board level

Qualifications

• Proven experience at Project Director or senior Project Manager level with a main contractor or CSA contractor.
• Demonstrable track record taking overall responsibility for large-scale, technically complex construction projects.
• Strong CSA background across substructure, structural frame, envelope and fit-out delivery.
• Substantial commercial capability, with genuine ownership of budget, risk and final account outcomes at project level.
• Proven subcontractor management experience across major procurement and package delivery.
• Confident senior client and stakeholder manager, credible at project board and executive level.
• Data centre or major industrial construction experience preferred; other large-scale complex delivery backgrounds will be considered.
• International or Nordic project experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline preferred.
• Willingness to work on a rotational basis from a Nordic project location.

Responsibilities

• Hold overall responsibility for CSA delivery, performance and outcome on a major mission-critical or industrial project.
• Own the master programme, driving sequencing, resourcing and mitigation strategy to protect fixed milestone dates.
• Lead the full project organisation across construction, engineering, planning, commercial, procurement and HSQE functions.
• Define and execute subcontract strategy, from procurement and package structuring through to performance and commercial management.
• Own the senior client relationship, representing the business at project board and executive level.
• Take full accountability for project commercial performance, including budget, forecast, risk register and final account position.
• Ensure the highest standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance across all works.
• Manage regulatory, permitting and local stakeholder interfaces relevant to the project jurisdiction.
• Report project status, risk and financial position to executive leadership, and contribute to wider regional delivery strategy.
• Develop senior delivery talent within the project team and build long-term organisational capability.

Our client is an international civil, structural and architectural contractor with a well-established presence across the Nordic construction market. The business specialises in technically complex, high-value projects where structural performance, programme certainty and buildability under demanding conditions are the defining challenges rather than incidental considerations.

Their reputation has been built on delivering the kind of work that relatively few contractors are equipped to take on — large-scale structural packages executed to exacting tolerances, on constrained programmes, frequently in challenging climatic conditions and within live or highly regulated operational environments. You will hold overall responsibility for CSA delivery on a major project, encompassing substructure and foundations, structural frame, envelope, internal fit-out and external works, together with all associated interfaces to the mechanical, electrical and specialist packages. The role is accountable for the outcome in its entirety — programme, cost, quality, safety and client satisfaction — rather than for any single discipline within it.

The projects themselves are large-scale and technically demanding, typically delivered against fixed and heavily scrutinised milestone dates with significant commercial consequence attached to slippage. Nordic delivery brings its own particular considerations, including winter working, seasonal programme planning, local regulatory and permitting frameworks, and a labour market and supply chain that operate to distinct norms and expectations.

You will lead a substantial project organisation covering construction management, engineering, planning, commercial, procurement and HSQE functions, while owning the senior client relationship and representing the business at project board level. Subcontract strategy sits squarely within your remit, from procurement approach and package structuring through to performance management and commercial resolution.

The position operates on a rotational basis with accommodation and all travel covered by the business, which suits senior professionals who want a significant international appointment without relocating a household. Time on site is intensive and hands-on at the leadership level; rotational periods away provide genuine recovery alongside continued strategic oversight.
