Job summary

Sokos.fi, part of S Group, is seeking a Principal Engineer to shape architecture and engineering quality for the webstore. You will lead technical ownership, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable digital services in Helsinki.

You’ll drive AI-assisted development and ensure alignment with architectural and information security principles, while balancing hands-on coding with strategic leadership in a product-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exposure to modern tech stacks.
• Fluent English communication and ability to mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical ownership of complex areas and define architecture across the Sokos.fi domain.
• Mentor engineers, guide technical decision-making, and contribute to product-level discussions.
• Collaborate with analysts, designers, and business stakeholders to frame challenges and feasibility.
• Ensure solutions are reliable, secure, scalable and aligned with S Group principles.
