Job summary

Sokos.fi, part of S Group, is seeking a Principal Engineer to shape architecture and engineering quality for our Helsinki-based webstore. You will help build reliable, secure, and scalable digital services alongside a passionate team of professionals, with a primary workplace in Helsinki and flexible remote options.

You will guide technical decision-making, mentor engineers, and collaborate with analysts, designers, and business stakeholders to define problems, evaluate options, and implement

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of relevant software experience and strong technical background.
• Comfortable working independently with broad technical ownership.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; focus on code quality and maintainability.
• Familiarity with modern tech stack including AWS, React, Node.js and relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical decision-making and contribute to product-level discussions.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices across the team.
• Own architectural decisions for complex areas and ensure reliability, security and scalability.
