Job summary

LUT University’s Building Services group in Lahti invites applications for a post-doctoral researcher position focused on sustainable buildings, energy efficiency, and user well-being. The role blends research, supervision, and teaching, with opportunities to publish and compete for funding.

The appointment is non-tenure track for two years with potential extension; hybrid work at LUT’s Lahti campus, starting as soon as possible (preferably November 2026).

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in building services engineering (HVAC and automation).
• Strong independent research ability and teaching skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Finnish language skills are a plus.
• Experience bridging energy use and occupant comfort is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Publish research results and contribute to research funding proposals.
• Supervise bachelor’s and master’s theses and contribute to teaching.
• Collaborate with national and international partners and present at meetings.
• Occasional travel may be required.
