Job summary

The University of Vaasa invites applications for a two-year Project Researcher in Energy Technology, located in the EPS group of the School of Technology and Innovations. Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in chemical/mechanical/process engineering.
• Experience calibrating 1D aftertreatment/combustion models with experimental data; 3D experience is a plus.
• Ability to plan and conduct engine lab experiments and postprocess emission data.
• Knowledge of catalysts and reaction mechanisms is a bonus.
• Strong analytical skills and excellent academic writing.
• Track record in journals/conferences is advantageous.
• Good communication and English skills; able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Join the EPS research group working on advanced combustion engine technologies.
• Develop 1D modelling and simulations of catalytic aftertreatment systems.
• Plan and perform engine laboratory experiments and analyze emission data.
• Integrate exhaust aftertreatment with thermal and energy management strategies.
• Contribute to research on green fuels and hydrogen/methane application.
