Job summary

University of Jyväskylä invites a Postdoctoral Researcher to advance theory in condensed matter within the Centre of Excellence in Quantum Materials (QMAT). You will work under guidance of Tero Heikkilä and Stefan Ilić on mesoscopic phenomena, combining Keldysh techniques with tensor networks and collaborating across theory and experiment groups.

The role seeks a PhD holder with strong English, capable of publishing in peer‑reviewed journals and presenting at international events.

Qualifications

• PhD in physics or a related field with a thesis on a theoretical topic.
• Good foundation in condensed matter physics, quantum physics and statistical mechanics.
• Familiarity with Keldysh field theory and/or quasiclassical Green’s functions is an asset.
• Tensor network methods (e.g. MPS, PEPS) are welcome.
• Strong written and spoken English; ability to present at international conferences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply theoretical and/or computational methods for correlated quantum materials, including nonequilibrium transport in mesoscopic systems.
• Collaborate with experimental and theory groups within the Centre of Excellence in Quantum Materials.
• Publish results in peer‑reviewed journals and present findings at conferences.
