Job summary

University of Helsinki’s Barrett lab seeks a post-doctoral researcher in computational genomics for predictive medicine. Lead analyses across multiomics with a focus on disease endotypes, collaborating with ELLIS Institute Finland, FIMM, and the Faculty of Medicine.

You will develop and test hypotheses, write code in Python or R, and contribute to publications and open-source software. The role includes mentoring and presenting at international conferences in a dynamic lab environment.

Qualifications

• PhD in computational biology, data science, bioinformatics, or related field.
• Proficiency in programming for data analysis in Python or R.
• Strong publication record and ability to communicate results.

Responsibilities

• Carry out research in computational genomics for predictive medicine; propose hypotheses and write code.
• Collaborate with team members and international partners; share results.
• Publish findings and contribute to open science via pre-prints and software.
• Design projects addressing questions in predictive medicine and mentor trainees.
