Job summary

The Faculty of Science and the Finnish Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM), HiLIFE at the University of Helsinki invite applications for a joint (50%:50%) position as Research Fellow (University Researcher) in AI for population health and genomics, on a fixed-term appointment of up to four years.

The appointee will develop an independent research program, focusing on methodological innovation and AI applications to large-scale biomedical data, with access to FinnGen, SWAN resources,

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in AI, ML, or computational statistics.
• 2–4 years postdoctoral research with evidence of independent work.
• Publication record in top AI/ML venues or biomedical journals.
• Research aligns with SWAN/AI for population health.

Responsibilities

• Develop and pursue an independent research program focusing on methodological innovation in AI for population health and genomics.
• Collaborate with university research groups and participate in ELLIS Institute Finland activities.
• Contribute to teaching activities up to 5–10% of annual time.
