Job summary

University of Helsinki invites applications for a Doctoral Researcher to study Russia’s role in promoting illiberal governance within the INFLUENCE MSCA network. The 36‑month full‑time EU contract supports a funded doctoral position and international supervision.

The project focuses on autocratisation, governance models, and diffusion of illiberal practices across Europe, with English language proficiency essential and Russian knowledge advantageous for selected projects.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent is required.
• Must not have been awarded a doctoral degree.
• Mobility rule: must not have resided or carried out main activity in recruiting country for more than 12 months in the last 36 months.
• Excellent English-language skills; knowledge of Russian and/or Baltic/Western Balkan languages is advantageous.
