Job summary

The University of Helsinki invites applications for a Doctoral Researcher position under the MSCA INFLUENCE network. The project investigates how Russia exploits migration narratives to destabilise European societies, with supervised, cross-institutional collaboration.

Contract is 36 months full-time, with EU funding, salary according to MSCA rules, and mobility and family allowances. Applicants must hold a Master’s degree and be eligible to start a doctorate in October 2027.

Qualifications

• Excellent English-language skills.
• Knowledge of Russian or Baltic/Western Balkan languages is a plus.
• Master’s degree or equivalent and eligibility to start a doctorate at the time of application.

Responsibilities

• Engage in joint international supervision and intersectoral secondments.
• Contribute to research on how migration narratives are constructed and disseminated.
• Travel to conferences and participate in academic and non-academic secondments.
