Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a hands-on Technical Lead (Ruby on Rails, AI-Native) for a part-time, fully remote role based in Finland. You will shape engineering culture, set standards, and mentor a distributed team across multiple countries.

The role emphasizes architectural leadership, high code quality, and responsible AI tool usage, with about 4–5 hours per day, Monday to Friday. You will guide engineering decisions, review AI-assisted workflows, and promote best practices in a globally distributed

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong production Rails experience (6+ years).
• Experience leading or mentoring small engineering teams.
• Excellent code-review capabilities and architectural judgment.
• Hands-on with AI-native development tools (Cursor, Claude Code).
• Experience in remote-first, distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a strong engineering culture and collaboration standards.
• Set technical standards for code quality, maintainability, reliability.
• Lead AI-native development practices and mentor a team of four developers.
• Guide architectural and technical decisions for scalable solutions.
• Review AI-assisted workflows, maintain testing and production readiness.
• Define development processes and coding conventions for distributed teams.
• Foster knowledge sharing across countries and time zones.
• Collaborate with leadership to own engineering culture and team development.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering workflows and AI tool adoption.
