Job summary

Oriola is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to take independent responsibility for accounting and reporting. The role is fixed-term until the end of 2028 and based at Oriola headquarters in Espoo, Finland.

The position follows a hybrid model with three office days per week, with a starting date negotiable. You will join a seven-person finance team handling accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing and GL accounting for the parent and subsidiary.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience in finance and accounting.
• Previous experience as Chief Accountant or in a comparable GL role.
• Fluency in Finnish and English.
• A degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work well under month-end pressure.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily and periodic accounting of the parent company.
• Prepare statutory and Group reporting for the parent company.
• Prepare monthly VAT reporting.
• Transfer payroll data to SAP and perform reconciliations.
• Prepare corporate income tax returns and related reporting.
• Process bank statements and GL transactions; perform related reconciliations.
• Support accounting of subsidiary including import tax data and accruals.

Job description

Oriola is looking for an experienced Financial Controller with strong general ledger accounting expertise to take independent responsibility for the accounting and reporting.

This varied role offers broad exposure to the financial operations of Oriola, a well-established company listed on Nasdaq Helsinki and operating in the Nordic health and wellbeing sector.

The position is fixed-term until the end of year 2028. The role is based at Oriola’s headquarters in Espoo. Oriola follows a hybrid working model with office presence three days a week. The starting date can be agreed with the selected candidate.

Role and responsibilities

You will be responsible for ensuring that the accounting and reporting of Oriola are accurate and completed according to the schedules and requirements of a listed company. You will join Oriola’s seven-person finance team responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing and the general ledger accounting of Oriola parent company and Oriola subsidiary. You will report to the Head of Financial Services Finland.

Your key activities include:

• Managing the daily and periodic accounting of Oriola parent company

• Preparing statutory and Group reporting for Oriola parent company

• Preparing monthly VAT reporting

• Transferring monthly payroll data to SAP and performing the related reconciliations

• Preparing corporate income tax returns and related reporting

• Processing bank statements relating to general ledger transactions

• Performing other accounting duties, including transferring treasury data to SAP and performing the related reconciliations

• Supporting the accounting of Oriola subsidiary, including collecting import tax data and posting accruals

Experience

The successful candidate has:

• At least 10 years of experience in finance and accounting

• Previous experience as a Chief Accountant or in a comparable general ledger accounting role

• Previous experience with SAP FI/CO

• Advanced Excel skills

• Fluency in both Finnish and English

• A relevant degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• The ability to well under pressure, particularly during month-end closing

• A proactive and independent approach to work, combined with the ability to ask for support when needed

• Accuracy and strong attention to detail

• Good numerical understanding and the ability to learn quickly

• Previous experience in a listed company is considered a strong advantage
