Finnair Plc is seeking a Data Scientist to join Intelligent Operations. You will develop predictive models and optimization solutions to support operational decision-making across the airline, working closely with operational stakeholders and Digital teams to translate data into reliable insights.

The role blends advanced analytics with software engineering, applying time-series analysis, feature engineering and anomaly detection to aviation data, and building production-ready code with testing

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research or another relevant quantitative field.
• 3–5 years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research or similar analytical role.
• Strong Python programming skills and interest in software engineering (testing, version control, CI/CD, MLOps).
• Fluency in English; Finnish is an advantage.

Responsabilités

• Understand operational challenges with stakeholders and translate them into predictive modelling and optimization solutions.
• Design, develop, validate, and deploy predictive and optimization models.
• Apply statistical and ML techniques (feature engineering, pattern recognition, anomaly detection) to operational data.
• Build scalable, production-ready data science solutions with tested, reusable code and modern software practices.
• Contribute to MLOps, including model deployment, monitoring and governance.
