Job summary

Oivan is seeking a Saudi Database Administrator with 3+ years of experience in database management, focusing on PostgreSQL Patroni, pgbouncer, HAProxy, and MongoDB. The role requires Agile Scrum background and delivery on high-impact projects to meet client expectations.

The on-site position in Riyadh demands fluency in Arabic and English, with strong automation, security, and DR/HA design skills to ensure reliable, scalable data services for complex enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• At least three years of database management experience.
• Hands-on experience with installation, configuration, upgrades, migration, and administration.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL Patroni, pgbouncer, HAProxy, MongoDB Replica Sets, MySQL Galera Cluster, and SQL Server Always On.
• Experience with high-availability, disaster recovery, replication, failover, and backup & recovery strategies using pgBackRest and native tools.
• Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, monitoring, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.
• Strong database security skills: encryption at rest/in transit, user and role management, access controls, auditing, and hardening.
• Automation skills: Shell/Bash, Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, Git/GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Experience with Windows and Linux administration and database monitoring tools.
• Good communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in Arabic and English.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, patch, migrate, and administer enterprise databases across PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL/MariaDB, and SQL Server.
• Manage day-to-day operations, including design of high-availability and disaster recovery solutions, support replication, failover, backup, and restore mechanisms.
• Optimize performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement security controls and encryption.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams.
• Automate tasks using Shell/Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform, Git/GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
