Job summary

ewi is seeking an experienced Protection and Control Engineer to strengthen site delivery for data centre and HV infrastructure projects. The role is hands-on, with most time spent at project and client sites, coordinating with management, panel and installation contractors, and client representatives to keep deliverables on schedule and to high quality.

The successful candidate will have a degree in electrical engineering, solid protection and control system experience up to 132kV, familiarity

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, automation, or related discipline.
• Experience with protection and control systems for transmission infrastructure up to 132kV.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Follow up installation works on site for protection, control, and automation systems, ensuring compliance with design documentation, wiring diagrams, and applicable standards.
• Plan and execute site acceptance testing (SAT) and commissioning of protection relays, control and automation systems, and associated secondary equipment.
• Carry out functional testing, protection relay setting verification, loop checks, and interlocking/logic testing on site.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues arising during installation, testing, and commissioning, escalating and coordinating corrective actions as needed.
• Act as the technical point of contact on site for contractors, subcontractors, and client personnel before and during commissioning phases.
• Ensure work on site is carried out safely and in accordance with HSE requirements and site-specific procedures.
• Prepare and maintain accurate site documentation, including test reports, punch lists, non-conformance reports, and as-built records.
• Coordinate and lead the handover process to the client, ensuring documentation, test records, and outstanding items are properly closed out.
• Provide feedback from site activities to the engineering and design teams to support continuous improvement.
• Support project schedules by proactively flagging risks or delays related to installation, testing, or commissioning progress.
