Job summary

Brightsmith is seeking a Senior Grid Connection Manager to lead grid strategy and connectivity for major Nordic data centre developments in Finland and Denmark. You will own the process from feasibility through energisation, coordinating with DSOs/TSOs and engineering teams to ensure timely delivery.

The role requires 10+ years in grid connections, strong HV experience, and collaboration with Finnish or Danish utilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in grid connections and power systems.
• Experience leading HV grid connections for large-load developments.
• Experience working with DSOs/TSOs in Finland or Denmark.
• Degree in Electrical or Power Engineering.
• Professional English; Finnish or Danish language skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead grid connection strategy and delivery for large-scale data centre developments in Finland and/or Denmark.
• Own the grid connection process from early-stage feasibility through application, connection agreements, construction and energisation.
• Lead engagement and technical negotiations with local DSOs, TSOs and utility providers.
• Assess grid capacity, connection options, timelines and constraints for potential data centre sites.
• Develop connection strategies for large-load, high-capacity developments and viable solutions.
• Manage grid applications, feasibility studies, connection studies and documentation.
• Oversee HV grid connection and substation requirements with internal and external engineering teams.
• Manage relationships with utilities, consultants, contractors and stakeholders.
• Identify grid-related risks and dependencies impacting site development or construction programmes.
• Coordinate grid milestones with Development, Design, Construction and Commercial teams.
