Job summary

Tampere University’s Wireless Systems group seeks a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to advance noise-driven communication methods for future 6G and IoT systems. The role involves modeling, signaling design, simulations, and practical validation of secure, energy-efficient wireless concepts.

Applicants should have a PhD in EE or wireless comms, strong theoretical/practical skills, and a track record of publications. Travel to conferences is expected.

Qualifications

  • PhD in electrical engineering, wireless communications, or similar.
  • Strong theoretical, practical, and/or programming skills.
  • At least three publications in top IEEE ComSoc journals as main author.
  • Experience in physical layer security, IoT, or transceiver design is a plus.
  • Good English language skills.
  • Ability to conduct independent and collaborative research in a multidisciplinary international environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new models and methods for noise-driven wireless communication.
  • Design low-power and low-complexity signaling schemes for future IoT and 6G systems.
  • Study secure and covert communication approaches based on noise-like signals.
  • Perform analytical work, simulations, and performance comparisons.
  • Contribute to lab demonstrations using SDR platforms where relevant.
  • Prepare high-quality publications and contribute to reporting and dissemination.
