Job summary

Thor in Seinäjoki is seeking a Senior Buyer to own day-to-day procurement for the data center project on site. You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, pricing and lead times to ensure materials arrive on time and to specification.

You will run quotations, evaluate suppliers, track orders and support internal teams to improve purchasing processes. A relevant degree and 3 years in procurement are required, with strong English and Finnish.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing or supplier management, ideally in construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and purchasing/ERP systems.
• Very strong English and Finnish, written and spoken.
• Strong planning, organisation and decision-making skills.
• Right to work in Finland / the EU.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily procurement and purchasing activities for the project.
• Negotiate contracts, prices, delivery times and terms with Finnish and international suppliers.
• Source and procure long-lead and critical equipment for data center, electrical and mechanical packages.
• Run quotations and tenders, compare bids and recommend suppliers.
• Evaluate suppliers on quality, cost, reliability, technical capability and availability.
• Build and maintain long-term supplier relationships.
• Track orders, lead times and deliveries against the construction programme.
• Maintain supplier databases and procurement documentation.
• Prepare cost estimates and help manage project purchasing budgets.
• Support internal teams and project stakeholders, and contribute to improving purchasing processes and guidelines.
