Job description

We are looking for a Material Planner to manage and coordinate material flow for jet engine repairs at our rapidly expanding international company, GA Telesis Engine Services Oy (GATES), located at Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport.

In this role, you will work closely with our Customer Support, Logistics, and Purchasing teams, ensuring seamless material availability for jet engine overhauls and repairs. Your responsibilities will include managing inventory levels, addressing material delays, developing contingency plans, optimizing inventory utilization, and contributing to continuous improvements across the supply chain. You will become part of the Procurement team of 10 experienced material planners and purchasers who work together to solve complex challenges in a dynamic environment.

While this is primarily an office-based position, we value a hands‑on mindset and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem‑solving, including a willingness to visit the shop floor to investigate material‑related issues and identify opportunities to improve processes and operational efficiency.

Your technical background or previous experience in similar roles, coupled with a deep understanding of supply chain management concepts and proactive attitude, will make you the ideal fit. Fluency in reading manufacturers' technical manuals is a definite plus.

This is a full‑time, permanent position. At GATES, we believe that close collaboration and teamwork are essential to our success. For this reason, we work primarily on‑site, where our teams can collaborate effectively and support one another in a fast‑paced operational environment.

Your responsibilities
  • Plan parts to be installed to engine.
  • Proactively manage and monitor inventory levels.
  • Issue purchase requisitions and oversee inventory purchasing.
  • Execute configuration control.
  • Monitor and improve supply chain in co‑operation with purchasing team.
What you need to succeed
  • Technical education or relevant work experience.
  • Ability to handle large complex datasets in a structured manner.
  • Strong written and verbal English skills; Finnish language skills are a bonus.
  • Knowledge of material planning and/or purchasing process.
  • Proactive mindset and ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Flexibility to adjust working hours occasionally to meet business needs.
  • Willingness to make quick and thoughtful decisions that benefit the business.
  • A keen eye for detail.
We offer
  • Positive and supportive work environment.
  • Development and training opportunities.
  • Diverse well‑being benefits (cultural and sports passes, on‑site gym, recreational activities).
  • Comprehensive occupational healthcare services.
