Job summary

Valmet in Tampere is seeking a Manager, LEAN Development to drive Lean transformation across EMEA and North America. You will lead Lean initiatives, coach leaders, and build a culture of continuous improvement while improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics.

You will deploy Lean across plants and suppliers, develop capabilities, and partner with site leaders. Expect multi-country collaboration with up to 50% travel within Finland and Nordic regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field.
• At least five years in Lean Operational Excellence / Continuous Improvement.
• Several years in Manufacturing or Supply Chain leadership (+Lean).
• Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, problem solving, and performance management.
• Experience leading change and influencing stakeholders across functions.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Travel up to 50%, mainly within Finland/Nordic countries.

Responsibilities

• Lead the deployment of Lean and Operational Excellence initiatives across plants and suppliers in EMEA and NA.
• Drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost via structured projects and Kaizen.
• Coach and train leaders on Lean methodologies to build sustainable improvement capabilities.
• Develop capability of unit leaders and employees to analyze performance and implement improvements.
• Partner with site leaders, operational teams, and suppliers to implement best practices for long-term outcomes.
