Job summary

Veikkaus in Helsinki is seeking a Lead Mobile Developer to steer the mobile development efforts, define the architectural vision, and build scalable app components for our digital channels. You will guide teams across architecture, performance, and production deployments to ensure top-tier mobile experiences.

The ideal candidate has extensive mobile development experience with React Native, strong leadership, and a passion for scalable software.

Responsibilities

• Define the architectural vision for Veikkaus mobile apps and lead the development teams.
• Build foundational app architecture and reusable components to enable multiple games to be integrated smoothly.
• Drive performance optimization and oversee secure production deployments.
• Support data-driven decisions by enabling analytics and A/B testing frameworks.
• Collaborate with designers, QA, data scientists, product owners and game experts to deliver top-tier mobile experiences.

Are you a seasoned mobile (React Native) developer with a passion for guiding a development team? We are now taking our Mobile development to the global stage, and we need an experienced Lead Mobile Developer to steer the ship and shape the future of Veikkaus' digital channels! As a Lead Mobile Developer, you will have a rare opportunity to leave a significant impact on our future app development and ensure our mobile capabilities remain top-tier in an evolving, highly competitive international landscape.

In this pivotal role, you will focus on the heavy lifting of our mobile development: defining the architectural vision, building the foundational app architecture, and creating scalable common components that enable our development teams to seamlessly integrate games into the app. As a hands-on leader, you will ensure our apps run flawlessly by driving performance optimization and overseeing smooth, secure deployments to production. You'll also play a key role in supporting our data-driven decisions by providing a solid technical framework for analytics and A/B testing. • Nice to have: Competence in Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android), along with familiarity with Expo, Expo Application Services (EAS), TypeScript, Firebase, Zustand, TanStack Query, and Zod, is an advantage.

The position is permanent and full-time. The position is located at Veikkaus’ headquarters in Pohjois-Haaga, Helsinki. We work flexibly in a hybrid model. To foster collaboration and effective teamwork, we meet at the office three times a week.
