Job summary

Veikkaus is seeking a Development Manager for the EGM Solutions team in Helsinki. You will guide hardware and software development for gaming devices, coordinating cross-functional teams in a hybrid setup.

As a leader you will identify needs with other units, plan incremental work, and foster collaborative, adaptable team cultures while aligning with Veikkaus’ strategy and goals.

Development Manager, EGM Solutions at Veikkaus

We are looking for a Development Manager for our EGM Solutions team. The team is in charge of hardware and software development for a multitude of gaming related devices.

We believe in working in small autonomous and adaptive teams and nurturing inclusive, collaborative and ambitious team cultures.

You will be guiding the team towards being an efficient Hardware & Software solution powerhouse and as such, your daily tasks include contributing on different levels of abstraction. You are the keeper of the big picture; you ensure the ideas are synthesized and the focus is on the essentials. You facilitate collaboration between different stakeholders and work together with multiple business and technology teams. Together with the team you methodically divide large visions into sensible increments.

Main responsibilities include:

• Leading development teams’ daily work

• Be a part of identifying customer and business needs together with other units

• Planning and coordinating work with other teams, development managers and business owners in our incremental planning model

• Developing working processes together with the team

• Bring clarity to the team and building a common picture of the company strategy

• Coaching team members

You will thrive in this position, if you have:

• A general understanding and experience of agile development processes and projects

• Good communication, networking and interaction skills (English & Finnish)

• Management skills and experience

• An appropriate degree (BA/MA or similar polytechnic degree) or otherwise acquired appropriate competence

• Possibility to work at the Veikkaus office minimum 3 times a week, in a hybrid manner

Must have experience from:

• Prototyping and 3d modeling, PDM systems

• PCB engineering and embedded systems

AND / OR

• Software design & tools or development, especially in cloud-based infrastructure

• Data driven technologies, Data analytics and services

Considered as an advantage:

• Knowledge of ITIL processes

• Experience from the gaming industry

• Experience in developing products for B2C or B2B environments
