Job summary

Wärtsilä in Vaasa, Finland is seeking a Chief test engineer or Test engineer to join the front end of our engine development. You will work in the Test and Validation team on 4-stroke engine testing for large bore engines, contributing to decarbonisation objectives.

You will maintain and develop test engines, plan and perform tests, analyse data, document results, and mentor others in technical guidance while collaborating with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical education in mechanical engineering.
• Experience with large bore engines or engine test environments is preferred.
• Good command of English; Finnish or Swedish also valued.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, development and upgrading of test engines.
• Plan, organize and execute engine component and system tests on lab, production and sometimes field engines.
• Analyse and report test results and ensure data integrity.
• Develop and update test methods and facilities; use measurement/control programs.
