Job summary

Wärtsilä Corporation in Vaasa, Finland, is seeking a Chief test engineer or Test engineer to join the Large Bore engines Test & Validation team. You will contribute to engine development and decarbonisation efforts, working at the front end of Wärtsilä’s technology development.

The role focuses on maintaining engines, planning tests on various engines, analyzing results, and developing test methods. Requires mechanical engineering degree and 4-stroke engine knowledge, with strong communication

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering.
Experience with 4-stroke engine technology is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret system diagrams and mechanical drawings.
Strong communication and documentation skills are essential.
English required; Finnish or Swedish knowledge is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Maintain, develop and upgrade test engines and associated systems.
Plan, organize and execute engine component and system tests on laboratory, production, and field engines and test rigs.
Coordinate test components ordering and test-related arrangements in the engine and test cells.
Analyze and report test results and ensure correct data is saved.
Support testing activities and improve test methods and facilities.
