Job summary

Nokia Research & Innovation in Technology Standards is seeking a high-potential researcher to lead and contribute to future mobile radio networks. You will drive new features and protocols for 6G and 5G-Advanced, participate in global standardization, and work with measured data from simulations and real PoCs.

You will collaborate with top engineers to push wireless technology boundaries, develop robust tools, and deliver patentable concepts while upholding strong ethics and a collaborative

Qualifications

• Strong technical background in wireless communication and experience in innovating mobile radio networks and wireless technologies.
• Solid knowledge of standards for mobile communications including 3GPP and ORAN.
• Experience in analyzing and optimizing performance of wireless systems with hands-on tool development.
• Proven software development skills in Matlab, C, C++, and/or Python.
• Experience creating patentable concepts and innovation.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Leadership and collaborative mindset with the ability to work autonomously.
• Strong professional ethics and rapid mistake rectification.

Responsibilities

• Drive progress as a technical lead, contributing to new product features, protocols, and standards in mobile communication (5G-Advanced and 6G).
• Work with a world-class team to advance 6G radio technologies and 5G-Advanced evolution in global standardization.
• Research and develop technologies for RRM innovations, including measurements and requirements for next-gen wireless systems.
• Evaluate performance of proposed innovations using link-level and system-level simulations.
• Work with synthetic and real measurements from simulators and PoC systems.
• Carry out specialized projects, showing adaptability in complex business environments.
• Communicate within and outside the team to advocate new concepts and technical solutions.
