Job summary

atNorth, a Nordic data center company, is looking for a skilled Construction Manager to join the Development team in Kouvola. You will oversee construction activities, ensure safety and quality, and drive on-time delivery from planning to handover to Operations.

The role requires over 5 years of experience in construction management, a degree in engineering or construction, and fluency in Finnish and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Construction Management.
• Experience with data centers, industrial facilities or critical infrastructure.
• Strong scheduling, quality, safety, and contractor management.
• Fluent in Finnish and English.

Responsibilities

• Ensure construction activities comply with local regulations, safety requirements, and atNorth standards.
• Oversee construction activities from planning through project completion and handover to Operations.
• Manage and coordinate General Contractors, subcontractors, and site personnel on a daily basis.
• Monitor installation quality and ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
• Coordinate closely with Design, Security, Operations, Commissioning, and Project Management teams.
• Develop, maintain, and track project schedules together with project stakeholders and the project scheduler.
• Lead weekly progress meetings and ensure alignment on project milestones and deliverables.
• Support procurement activities and ensure timely delivery of owner-furnished equipment (OFCI).
• Monitor site progress, contractor performance, productivity, and resource utilization.
• Ensure all safety requirements are adhered to and that observations, incidents, and corrective actions are appropriately reported and managed.
• Ensure commissioning activities are executed in accordance with atNorth commissioning plans and quality standards.
• Identify, assess, and elevate project risks, technical issues, deviations, and non-conformities to support timely resolution.
