Do you get more energy from shaping the future than maintaining the status quo? Are you the kind of technology professional who wants to understand what the business is actually trying to achieve before designing the technology behind it? And would you like to work in an environment where you can influence everything from cloud strategy and IT investments to security capabilities and AI-driven initiatives?
If you're looking for a role that combines long-term thinking with practical execution, where you can influence technology direction and actively help turn plans into working solutions, keep reading.
What it’s all about
We're creating a brand-new IT Architect role to help bring more structure, clarity, and long-term thinking to Staria's technology environment as we continue to grow internationally.
You'll work closely with both business stakeholders and IT colleagues, translating business needs into practical solutions and helping guide technology decisions that support our future growth.
What makes this role particularly exciting is its balance. You'll contribute to architectural planning and technology roadmaps while also staying close to implementation, working hands‑on with technologies, projects, and solutions when needed.
How you'll make a difference
As our IT Architect, you'll have one foot in IT and the other in the business. You'll help bring structure to our technology landscape, support important technology decisions, and ensure that development initiatives move from ideas into practical, sustainable solutions.
In practice, you will:
- Own and develop Staria's target architecture, architecture principles contributing to long‑term IT roadmap
- Partner closely with business stakeholders to understand strategic goals and turn them into practical technology initiatives
- Drive IT development projects, technology modernizations, migrations, and new solution implementations from idea to production
- Evaluate and challenge technology choices, vendor proposals, and architectural decisions from security, cost, scalability, and maintainability perspectives
- Help define how we further develop and govern a modern cloud‑first IT environment
- Contribute to key decisions around cloud services, infrastructure, SaaS solutions, end‑user platforms, and cybersecurity
- Ensure security and compliance requirements are built into solutions from the start
- Maintain architectural documentation, technology roadmaps, integration mappings, and decision records
- Support and guide IT specialists with clear standards, designs, and technical direction
- Explore emerging technologies, including AI‑related opportunities, and assess how they can create value for Staria
- Act as a senior technical expert and participate hands‑on in implementation work when needed
One of your first priorities will be building a clear picture of our current architecture, documenting the landscape, and creating a roadmap for future development. You'll also be involved in shaping our cloud strategy, strengthening security operations, and improving vulnerability management practices across the environment.
You’ll report to Director of Business IT & Security.
Your everyday at Staria
We are primarily looking for someone based in the Helsinki area, but candidates located in Tampere or Turku are also welcome to apply. We work in a hybrid model and hope you're able to spend a couple of days per week at one of our offices to support collaboration and stakeholder work.
Our salary range for this role is €5,500-6,500/month, depending on your background and scope of the role. For a highly experienced architect, we are open to shaping the role with broader ownership across Staria's IT architecture, which would be reflected in the compensation. The holiday bonus is distributed evenly across your monthly pay, so it’s part of your regular salary.
