Job summary

Knowit is seeking an Azure Architect to design and implement sustainable cloud services for a range of clients. You will lead container solutions using AKS, drive security practices, and plan future technology directions in a hybrid work setup.

Applicants should have 3–5 years of Azure and container orchestration experience, with a DevOps mindset and strong CI/CD expertise in Azure environments. You will collaborate with diverse client teams and push for innovation.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience with Azure cloud services and strong expertise in architecting Kubernetes-based solutions.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is the preferred way of working.
• 3–5 years of experience in container orchestration, preferably in Azure environments, using Kubernetes and AKS.
• DevOps mindset with automation of infrastructure and business logic.

As an Azure Architect, you will design, implement, maintain and continuously develop new and sustainable cloud services for a wide range of customers. Our clients include major organisations such as Valmet, S Group and Varma (customer case) .

What is the role about?

We are looking for an Azure Architect with strong expertise and experience particularly in Kubernetes solutions. In this role, you will take the lead in designing and implementing demanding container solutions using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), ensuring that they are scalable, secure and reliable.

A key part of the role is also strategically planning future technology directions, designing environments that support evolving business needs, and driving innovation through new cloud technologies. You will play an important role in developing business continuity and resilience solutions tailored to container-based applications, guiding smooth migrations and optimising system performance for both current and future needs.

In this key role, you will work with a diverse range of clients across different industries, providing both strategic direction and technical leadership in using container technologies to transform their businesses.

Building service solutions based on Microsoft Azure cloud architectures covers the entire journey, from definition and design to development and deployment. You will work as part of client teams alongside other experienced Azure professionals, right at the intersection of technology and our clients’ businesses.

We hope you have:

3–5 years of experience with Azure cloud services. This means an interest in designing and defining architectures and/or strong expertise in implementing them. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is our preferred way of working.

3–5 years of experience in container orchestration, preferably in an Azure environment, particularly in designing, developing, deploying, maintaining and troubleshooting container-based applications and their architectures using technologies such as Kubernetes and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

A DevOps mindset: you understand modern approaches to building solutions using native tools and code, and actively look for opportunities to automate everything from infrastructure to business logic.

Strong expertise in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for container-based applications, including Azure Container Registry integrations and the use of Helm package management.

Experience in implementing and managing security practices in Kubernetes environments, such as network policies and security contexts, as well as a good understanding of Azure security tools such as Defender for Cloud.

Skills that are considered an advantage, but are not required:

Experience with Kubernetes monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana

Ingress controllers and Gateway API

Azure DevOps and GitHub

Infrastructure as Code experience with Azure Bicep

Experience with GitOps tools such as FluxCD and ArgoCD

AI policies, AI Gateway and MCP servers
