Job summary

UPM is seeking a Data Product Owner to join the Data & Digital Enablement team to lead data products for Sales and Operations Planning. The role focuses on turning business needs into well-defined data requirements and ensuring alignment with data models and governance.

Located in Helsinki or Tampere, Finland, the position reports to the Director of IT Data & Digital Enablement and collaborates with data engineers, architects, and governance teams to deliver high-value data assets and scalable

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Information Architecture and data modelling.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, including data modelling, metadata, master data, and data quality.
  • Solid understanding of information architecture and enterprise data frameworks.
  • Experience working with data platforms, data engineering teams, and analytics solutions.
  • Experience in Sales or Operations Planning domains is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the data product vision, roadmap, and backlog for assigned domains.
  • Translate business needs into well-defined, prioritized data product requirements.
  • Ensure data products are designed according to data management and information architecture principles.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, data engineers, architects, and governance teams to deliver high-value data assets.
  • Align with enterprise data models, metadata standards, and architecture guidelines.
  • Drive data quality, consistency, and lifecycle management across data products.
  • Promote reuse, standardisation, and interoperability across domains.
  • Contribute to UPM data governance and information management.
  • Design and drive the development of high-quality, reusable data products supporting operations, analytics, and AI use cases.

We are looking for a Data Product Owner to join our Data & Digital Enablement (DDE) team to focus on Sales and Operations Planning (SOP) domain. What you will do
  • Own and drive the data product vision, roadmap, and backlog for assigned domains

  • Ensure alignment with enterprise data models, metadata standards, and architecture guidelines
  • Drive data quality, consistency, and lifecycle management across data products
  • Promote reuse, standardisation, and interoperability across domains
  • Contribute to UPM data governance and information management
  • In this role, you will design and drive the development of high-quality, reusable data products that support business operations, analytics, and AI use cases. You ensure that data is structured, governed, and delivered in a way that enables scalability, reusability and long-term value.
Who you are
  • You have 5+ years of experience in Information Architecture and data modelling
  • You possess a strong understanding of data management principles, including data modelling, metadata, master data, and data quality
  • You have solid understanding of information architecture and enterprise data frameworks
  • You have experience working with data platforms, data engineering teams, and analytics solutions
  • Experience in Sales or Operations Planning domains is beneficial
  • You demonstrate strong communication skills and can translate business needs into data requirements
  • You are fluent in English, both spoken and written
