Job summary

University of Turku is recruiting a bioinformatics researcher at the Project Researcher or Senior Researcher level. The role focuses on analyzing and integrating large-scale omics and medical datasets, with opportunities to advance data science methods in immuno-omics within a multidisciplinary environment.

The successful candidate will work across faculties and Turku Bioscience Centre collaborations, using modern tools like Nextflow, Docker, and HPC resources.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in computer science, bioinformatics, biomathematics, biostatistics, or related field.
• Strong computational and analytical skills, and English communication.
• Experience with bioinformatics data analysis tools for large-scale omics data analyses.

Responsibilities

• Analysis and integration of large-scale data sets from transcriptomics, proteomics, genetics, epigenetics, and other omics technologies, along with medical data.
• Deployment, testing, development and application of data analytic solutions for omics datasets, and keeping track of the newest methods in this fast developing field
• Supporting collaborative research projects that require skills in developing and applying data science methods, with the possibility to co-author manuscripts
