Job summary

Extendicare is seeking an Immigration Operations Advisor to guide workforce planning and immigration strategy from our Markham head office. You will partner with HR, Talent Acquisition and business leaders to translate complex immigration requirements into practical workforce recommendations and support sustainable staffing decisions across the organization.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in HR, Business, Immigration, Law, Public Administration or related field.
• 4+ years in HR advisory, workforce planning, talent acquisition, immigration operations or related advisory roles.
• Experience partnering with leaders and guiding on complex people or workforce matters.
• Strong business acumen, risk assessment and ability to influence decisions.
• Ability to translate complex immigration information into practical recommendations.
• Data analysis experience to support workforce planning and decisions.
• Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with AI-enabled tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders and HR stakeholders to support recruitment, retention and planning with immigration considerations.
• Assess employee eligibility and recommend employer-supported immigration pathways.
• Identify workforce continuity risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Analyze immigration-related data to identify trends and opportunities for planning.
• Develop reports, dashboards and executive summaries for leaders.
• Review immigration applications and ensure accuracy and program alignment.
• Serve as escalation point for complex immigration matters and advise on risk.
• Create and maintain immigration processes, tools, policies and training materials.
• Monitor regulatory changes and translate into business guidance.
• Share expertise through training and consultation across HR and operations.
