Job description

HR Business Partner – Global Role, Finnish Expertise

Make an impact in a growing global technology business

Would you like to play a key role in shaping how an international technology business grows, develops its leaders and prepares for the future?

At Nordic Semiconductor, we are looking for an experienced and business-minded HR Business Partner to support our Long Range business – an exciting and evolving part of our organization, with innovative products, international operations and significant growth opportunities ahead.

This is an opportunity to work at the heart of the business, partnering with leaders across countries and contributing to organizational development, business growth and change.

While based in Oulu, your impact will reach far beyond Finland. You will combine global HR business partnering with strong expertise in Finnish employment law and practices, helping leaders navigate both strategic people priorities and complex day-to-day challenges.

Your role – partnering with the business

As our HR Business Partner, you will be a trusted advisor to leaders in the Long Range business, supporting their teams and operations across geographical boundaries.

You will work closely with business leaders to understand their priorities, challenge thinking constructively and translate business needs into meaningful people and organizational actions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic HR partnering: Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, supporting business priorities, organizational effectiveness and workforce planning across an international environment.
  • Organizational development and change: Partner with leaders to drive organizational development, support business growth and scaling, and navigate change, restructuring and integration activities.
  • Finnish employment expertise: Serve as a key expert on Finnish employment law, collective agreements, employee relations and change negotiations, providing practical, sound and compliant guidance to leaders.
  • Leadership and talent development: Coach and support managers, strengthen leadership capabilities and contribute to performance management, talent development and employee engagement.
  • Global HR collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across our international People & Culture organization, contributing to consistent HR processes and sharing expertise and best practices across the team.

The role combines strategic influence with hands-on problem-solving. You will have the opportunity to contribute to broader business development while remaining close to the people and everyday realities of the organization.

What will help you succeed?

We are looking for someone who brings credibility, curiosity and a genuine interest in understanding the business beyond the immediate HR agenda.

You know how to build trusted relationships with leaders, ask the right questions and challenge constructively when needed. You combine sound professional judgment with a pragmatic approach and can find solutions even when the answers are not immediately obvious.

We believe you will thrive in this role if you bring:

  • Solid experience in HR business partnering, preferably working closely with senior leaders in an international business environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of Finnish employment legislation and practices, including experience navigating complex employee relations matters and organizational changes.
  • A business-oriented mindset and the ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
  • Experience in a dynamic, international organization where business priorities evolve and change is part of everyday life. Experience in technology, R&D or another complex business environment is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage and challenge stakeholders at different organizational levels.
  • The independence, resilience and drive to take ownership, move initiatives forward and find solutions in changing circumstances.
  • Fluency in both Finnish and English.

A relevant degree in HR, business or a related field will provide a good foundation for the role.

Above all, we value a person who is curious, proactive and motivated to develop together with the business. You are comfortable working in an environment where not everything is predefined, and you see change as an opportunity to contribute rather than an obstacle.

Why join Nordic Semiconductor?

At Nordic Semiconductor, you will become part of an innovative international technology company where talented people, ambitious business development and continuous change create an exciting working environment.

Our Long Range business is entering an interesting phase of development, offering the opportunity to contribute to how the organization grows, scales and evolves internationally.

You will join a collaborative global People & Culture team, working with experienced colleagues across locations and reporting to the Director, Talent & People Partnering.

We believe in trust, autonomy and teamwork. You will have the opportunity to take ownership, influence decisions and develop professionally while being supported by colleagues who value sharing knowledge and finding solutions together.

  • We also offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including incentive arrangements and additional insurance benefits.
