Job summary

GE HealthCare Finland Oy in Helsinki seeks a Software Engineering Specialist to contribute to clinical application software for patient monitoring products. You will work in a multidisciplinary agile team designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining software for patient monitors and visualization of measurements and alarms.

The role emphasizes modern software practices in a regulated medical device environment, collaboration with clinicians and engineers, and responsible use of AI coding

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience or solid academic background in object-oriented software design and development, preferably with C++.
• Familiarity with modern software development practices, agile methodologies, and software quality activities.
• Experience or interest in application software, UI development, embedded software, or software platforms.
• Willingness to learn and use AI coding assistants as part of daily software development work.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and maintain clinical application software for patient monitoring products as part of an agile software team.
• Develop features for visualization of medical measurements, including numbers, waveforms, statuses, trends, graphics, alarms, and data transfer.
• Contribute to design reviews, code reviews, testing, defect analysis, and required documentation.
• Write and maintain unit tests and other automated tests to improve testability and quality.
• Collaborate with engineers, clinicians, system engineers and stakeholders in a cross-functional, global environment.
