Job summary

GE HealthCare in Helsinki is seeking a Software Engineering Specialist to contribute to clinical application software for patient monitoring products as part of an agile team. You will design, implement, test, and maintain software for patient monitors, including visualization of measurements and data transfer within the system and to external networks.

This early-career role emphasizes collaboration, learning, and responsible use of AI coding assistants within a regulated medical device

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Hands-on experience or solid academic background in object-oriented software design and development, preferably with C++.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written; legally authorized to work in Finland.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and maintain clinical application software for patient monitoring products as part of an agile software development team.
• Develop software features related to visualization of medical measurements, including numbers, waveforms, statuses, trends, graphics, alarms, and data transfer within the system and to external networks.
• Contribute to feature development under the guidance of more experienced engineers, gradually building ownership of defined tasks and smaller feature areas.
• Apply modern software engineering methods to develop robust, maintainable, and high-quality software for a regulated healthcare environment.
• Write and maintain unit tests and other automated tests; contribute to improving testability and software quality.
• Collaborate with software engineers, testers, clinical experts, system engineers, and other stakeholders in a cross-functional, global environment.
