Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd in Switzerland (Baden) seeks a Functional Manager Control & Protection Engineering to lead and develop the Control and Protection Engineering function within the HUB Europe Substation Automation Engineering organization.

You will manage up to 12 Team Leaders across locations, drive standardization, ensure resource utilization, and advance engineering excellence while shaping future capabilities and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Substation Automation or Control & Protection.
• Proven people leadership as Team Leader or Manager.
• Strong knowledge of engineering processes, project execution, and tools.
• Fluent in English; other European languages advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Team Leaders across the Operating Unit.
• Drive harmonization and standardization of engineering processes and tools.
• Ensure effective utilization of resources and quality of services.
• Harmonize hardware and software engineering tools across the community.
• Lead competency and capacity management to meet project demands.
• Develop and implement standard engineering solutions for efficiency and scalability.
• Define and maintain cost estimation models for engineering and testing within projects.
• Contribute to Steering and Center of Excellence initiatives.
