HUS Diagnostics Center in Helsinki Meilahti invites an experienced ward nurse to lead the pre-analytics team on a permanent basis. The role concentrates on supervising local staff and ensuring smooth operations in the ward.

You will collaborate with senior nurses, process owners, and colleagues, contributing to staff wellbeing, customer service, and efficient laboratory and imaging workflows. Finnish language proficiency is required.

Qualifications

Job description

Welcome to a ward nurse position in the Pre-Analytics area at the Diagnostics Center. The HUS Diagnostics Center is Finland’s leading provider of clinical laboratory and imaging services. Our primary operations cover the specialized care within the HUS alliance and primary care across the welfare regions affiliated with HUS, with responsibilities also extending to the Kymenlaakso and South Karelia welfare regions for laboratory and imaging operations. We operate in eight medical specialties and nationally handle many specialized investigations as well as university hospital–level research, teaching and exams. Diagnostics studies play a central role in confirming diseases, excluding conditions, supporting treatment, and monitoring and screening. About 3,300 laboratory and imaging professionals work at the Diagnostics Center in over 150 sites.

We are now seeking a ward nurse for the pre-analytics area on a permanent contract for Helsinki Meilahti hospital campus, to lead local staff as a first-line supervisor, with strong cooperation skills.

Location & Contract

Permanent contract. Hospital campus: Helsinki Meilahti. Start date: 2 November 2026 or as agreed.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree with relevant experience or leadership studies and experience, or previously approved ward nurse qualification with relevant experience and a licensed health care professional
• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in leadership and administration studies or a previously approved ward nurse qualification with relevant experience and a licensed health care professional

Language Requirements

• Good spoken and written Finnish and acceptable Swedish skills, or good Swedish and acceptable Finnish skills.

Health & Safety Requirements

• Evidence of vaccination protection against communicable diseases for customers/patients and medical personnel health clearance for tuberculosis.

Salary

The ward nurse position has a monthly salary of 4559.96 euros and possible seniority pay.
