Job summary

INFICON Aaland in Åland, Finland, seeks a Production Development Engineer for our sensor development team. You’ll coordinate test sensor builds, ensure test equipment stays busy, and interpret data to steer development decisions, working closely with experienced engineers and gaining deep insights into sensor construction and production.

Qualifications

• Engineer or engineering technician with a Bachelor or Master degree.
• Relatively newly graduated, eager to apply learnt knowledge.
• Interest in vacuum technology, mechanics or electronics is valuable but not required.
• Curiosity, responsibility and a quick learning mindset are emphasized.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and drive the construction of test sensors and test units together with production, including planning material flow and test batches.
• Ensure calibration and test equipment is continuously supplied with samples.
• Collect, structure and carry out basic analysis of process parameters and measurement data.
• Identify and report deviations or variation in the build process and contribute to improvements.
• Serve as the daily point of contact between the development department and production for prototype builds.
• Document work processes, test results and lessons learned in a structured way that is accessible to the team.
• Actively take part in team discussions about results and next steps in the development work.
• Develop and contribute to the continuous improvement of the learning cycles (experiment planning, prototype build and test processes).
• Actively use AI and statistical tools, for example in experiment planning and data analysis.
